TV Actress-Comedian Purbi Joshi Blessed With A Baby Boy; Calls Motherhood Her Biggest Achievement11th January 2019
Famous television actress-comedienne Purbi Joshi is on cloud nine these days. The actress, who has many hit shows like Mehndi Tere Naam Ki, Mr. & Ms. TV, Hamari Devrani, The Great Indian Comedy Show, and many more to her kitty, has been missing in action lately. Well, for all the fans of the actress, here is an update. Purbi Joshi got married to her long-time beau Valentino Fehlmann in 2014. Valentino is a US citizen and the two are settled in Los Angeles ever since they got married. Happily married for four years, the couple recently welcomed a new member in the family. Yes, Purbi and Valentino became parents to a baby boy on 9 December 2018.
The actress spoke to the leading entertainment daily, Bombay Times from LA and opened up about her feelings on achieving motherhood. Calling it her biggest achievement, she also revealed the name of her little munchkin. The baby has been given a Latin name, Cayden, which means ‘warrior’. The actress said, “Till the time you don’t hold your baby in your arms, you won’t know what motherhood is. Becoming a mother is my biggest achievement and I feel fortunate to have had this experience. We didn’t have any naming ceremony, but we have given him a Latin name, Cayden, which means ‘warrior’.”
The newbie mom Purbi also has a word or two of advice for all the mommies-to-be. Sharing her journey from being pregnant to giving birth to little Cayden, the actress revealed, “I had a healthy pregnancy and took care of my diet and exercise regimen. In fact, I exercised till the last day of my pregnancy. I read good books and watched sensible TV shows and films, since it’s believed that all these things have an impression on the unborn baby. I also watched many comedy shows, which had me laughing all the time.”
While speaking to BT, Purbi also shed light on the serious issue that a lot of newbie moms go through, postpartum depression. She revealed postpartum depression is for real and how important is it for a woman to have her family around to get past it. Purbi’s mother Sarita Joshi and her sister Ketaki Dave, (both are renowned Indian television actresses) were the biggest support to her during this time. The actress shared, “They have taken time out from their busy schedules, and it is a blessing to have them with me. I’m learning a lot from them. They are good cooks and ensure that I’m well-fed. Postpartum depression is a reality and they have helped me to not only take care of my baby, but also myself. For Valentino and I, sleepless nights have been easy to handle since they are with us.”
Talking about what’s going on in her professional life, Purbi, who has not been in action for quite some time, reveals that she still keeps getting offers from India. She was last seen in Comedy Classes, “I used to travel to India for Comedy Classes, but decided to take a break for a short while. I still get offers from India. Even here, I sometimes bump into Indians and it feels good to know that people have not forgotten me.”
